Links on colour management....
When you depart from the safety net of your printer manufacturers'
branded ink and paper, and venture into the realm of custom inkjet
printing, you are likely to encounter problems of incorrect colour
rendition. You struggle with colour orrections in Photoshop, or colour
setting adjustments in your printer, yet the results never seem
consistent. A 'colour managed workflow' is the Final Solution and can
save you costs. The subject may seem daunting, but it can be reduced to
three things, and the knowledge of how to apply them:-
(1) calibrate your monitor using Adobe gamma (free with Photoshop &
Elements).
(2) obtain an ICC profile for your favourite combination of ink and
paper, cost about £20.
(3) apply the ICC profile whenever you print a photo.
